Bluebird Chelsea - Valentines Day Afternoon Tea Review

We had a lovely day out on Friday. I actually had Thursday and Friday off work but ended up being really ill with a cold the whole time and still have it now, typical! We thought afternoon tea was a good thing to do on Valentine's day because we didn't want to end up in a restaurant full of couples and heart shaped balloons haha.

Originally we wanted to go to One Aldwych for this afternoon tea:

But, unfortunately, because of the price and the times that were available we decided against it.

Instead we went to Bluebird in Chelsea where we've been to for a drink before but not for anything to eat.

The decor is really effective especially the lighting! It's a nice welcoming atmosphere with an edge of coolness about it as well...

We were sat at one of the informal tables near the front of the restaurant with high comfy chairs and a bright Red table. There's a choice of a traditional afternoon tea or a champagne afternoon tea. Funnily enough we went for the traditional one with no champagne, boo!

The choice of tea's were lovely and included an assam breakfast tea (that we went for), white tea, camomile tea amongst various others.

The food was so good! The sandwiches were a selection including Ham and Mustard, Coranation Chicken, Egg Mayo and another one that had caramelised onion and some sort of cheese in it. Then there were two beautiful scones that were still warm in the middle with clotted cream and jam, a lemon slice and a fruitcake slice. And on the top there were macaroons that had jam in the middle, a fruit mousse slice and a rich chocolate slice. I was so full afterwards. The husband was keen for another scone though haha.

I would recommend if you're out and about in Chelsea popping into Bluebird to see what's on offer.
