Maternity Leave Bucket List

I'm in a bit of an awkward situation because the job I had previously and which I am currently on maternity leave with is in London. And we live in Portsmouth now. It's just that little bit too far to commute too unfortunately which I'm gutted about.

So after Christmas, when my Statutory Maternity Pay stops, I'll be looking for a new job. Scary stuff! And what's even more scary, is how close that now is.

With this in mind I thought it would be fun to come up with a Maternity Leave Bucket List, for my last 3 months of maternity leave...

Anyone who knows me, knows how homesick I get and I hate the fact we're so far away from my family. I'm lucky that I've been up twice since Isla has been born and I actually just arrived up here on Wednesday to stay for 2 weeks, for my brother's 21st. We are also going to be up there for Christmas so I think I've done well with the trips whilst on maternity leave.
I have been dying to take Isla to The Baby Spa ever since I saw it featured on one of Hannah Magg's vlogs. I love the idea of it and think Isla will love it too. Isla's birthday twin, Max, has also been taken by his lovely mummy Rom who blogs at Beauty, Bump and Me. I saw the photos on Facebook and was like 'we havvvve to take Isla asap!'. It looks like such a lovely, peaceful, relaxing experience for the babies.

Just the three of us. I fancy a little staycation somewhere because we haven't managed to go abroad. I did really want to go glamping on the Isle of Wight but we missed it! Will need to have a little google and come up with a plan.
I've been meaning to do this for about a month now but haven't managed to pick a day and time that suits. I did a lot of dancing when I was younger, loved ballet and hope Isla will enjoy it too.

I think the Nirvana-stylee underwater photos of babies are fab. Isla has been doing swimming lessons for a while and loves the water so hoping to sort this out soon!

Even though we live in military marriage quarters, I still like to make the house look nice. Whatever we do to it, we have to put it back to the way it was when we moved in. Considering most drafts aren't more than a couple years, a lot of people don't bother to do anything to the houses and keep them in all their magnolia wall glory. We've painted 3 rooms and have just recently decided to do the spare room as well. It'll probably double up as a playroom for Isla too so it's worth doing!

eBay, Gumtree, car boots...you name it, we need to try it! We have so much stuff to get rid of baby and non baby related, it's getting silly. Here's hoping I get it sorted soon.
I've been working on this for about a month now and it's really starting to annoy me! I need to dedicate a whole weekend or something to get my head around all the widgets etc. I've got a site but I'm not happy with the layout at the moment. Hopefully it'll be worth it!

The blog has really started growing recently and we've made so many lovely friends through it too. I would like to get it into a routine in terms of posting and uploading videos so that I can continue to manage it around a full time job. I'll need to get myself a lovely little notebook to plan my posts and weeks in advance!

What plans do you have for your maternity leave? Other than the obvious baby cuddles etc!

  2. Love the idea of the underwater baby pic - I've never felt up to that kind of thing after having mine (both emergency C-sections) but it is such a lovely idea
