Happy Days #1

Technically the Christening photo is from last Sunday but technically a week ago I guess! We had a fab time at a friend's baby's christening on board a Naval ship. Rob, of course, bumped into someone he knew! The reception back a local hotel was so lovely too.

We also had another friend's baby's 1st birthday party on Monday at a soft play place near us. The babies had a great time playing together whilst us parents chatted away and then had lunch. My friend had done little party bags which I was so excited about because it's the first party bag I've seen since I was a kid. So much fun!...

We only managed to get to one group this week because we were silly busy and then I got ill on Friday. It was also Isla's first day at nursery on Tuesday which I will write about separately!

We had a little impromptu photo shoot with a tutu that Isla got for Christmas. It came with a cute over layer that had little embellishments on it but I thought just the plain White worked well against this background. I can't wait for her to start ballet. I'm going to be one of those awful pushy mums who wants to live their dreams through their daughter!!! I did ballet and dancing for years into my (very early) 20s!

I try to get Isla to play in her play pen but she spends the whole time plotting her escapes. She much prefers to be in amongst my things...as per the make up example above!

Technically I got my nails done last week but they are shellac and everytime I look at them, they make me happy so I thought I'd include them! I got a lovely deep red colour which has a slight shimmer. Shellac is such a life saver as a parent. Always helps me to look and feel better. Simple things!

This is definitely not 'happy, fun' time for me but had a vomiting bug on Friday and spent the whole day on the sofa or in bed so I guess it's technically time for me...well time for me to get better!

Unfortunately I don't have a photo of this but all of a sudden Isla has started giving what feels like real hugs and 'snuggles'. It's hard to explain but it's like she now deliberately goes to snuggle her head in to my chest or to grip onto me like a hug. It's usually after bath time or in the evening. I put it down to her being a bit ill and thinking we're always going to leave her after being at nursery for a day, but I could just go with the fact she might just love us!!

Catch up with some more friends and re-decorate Isla's nursery before I start working again. It's so not going to happen this week though. It's chock-a-block! I can hope...

Looking forward to reading about everyone else's happy days!

  2. Isla's cheeky face in the playpen made me giggle - yep mummy's make up is waaay more fun!

I'm so sorry you got ill towards the end of the week, a vomiting bug is not what you need! I hope you're feeling better now.

What are you planning to do to Isla's room? It sounds exciting.
