Weekend Baby Style #22

Happy Friday y'all!

As mentioned yesterday, I am off to Holland today to partake in some serious pre-wedding celebrations with the besties from NL.

So Anna from Play at Home Teacher will be in charge of all the retweeting, commenting and social media side of the linky. Show her the love!

I will be checking in whenever I can so look out for me.

Just one quick outfit from us this week due to time constraints...

Top, H&M | Leggings, Next | Cardi, H&M | Headband, Blossom Wood Boutique* | Moccasins, Hux Baby

This is the first time we have worn this spotty little number from H&M. He was an absolute bargain at £2.99 I believe and I absolutely love the flutter sleeves. I don't usually go for spotty things, I'm more of a stripes kind of girl but I'm loving this. I know Navy Blue and Black traditionally are not meant to go together, but I mix it up all the time when I wear Black jeans!  Still stuggling to find nice, plain cardis. Will keep up the hunt and let you know how I get on. This headband is still one of my faves and I'll have to check if you can still use our discount code to get some pennies off. There are SO many gorgeous new styles in Blossom Wood Boutique at the moment.
<There was supposed to be a photo of Isla in here but she was FAR too emotional this morning - apologies!>
So now it's your turn...

The rules are simple:
  • Grab the code below and pop the badge on your post so more people can find us to link up
  • Link your post up below
  • Use the hashtag #weekendbabystyle on social media and mention @KnottBumpAndUs. We'll RT everyone that does
  • Visit and comment on other posts that have linked up. If you are first pop back later. Linkys are about sharing the love, they don't work if we don't all participate!

Weekend Baby Style Update

Hello all you lovely Weekend Baby Style bloggers,
A little update on what is happening with the linky this weekend.
I am off to The Netherlands for one of my best friend’s hen weekend so I am leaving the linky in the capable hands of Anna from Play At Home Teacher.
I will still post our Weekend Baby Style outfits and you will be able to submit your posts on either my site or Anna’s but Anna will be in charge of all the comments, RTs and general linky love. Whenever I have WiFi, and I don’t have a glass of Prosecco in my hand, I will check in on all your posts.
Everything will be back to normal next week and I will crack on with coming up with a new name as well.
Thanks so much to all of you who share your posts with us every week. We love them all!

Real Techniques: Bold Metals Brush Review

I’ve really started getting into my make-up and make-up accessories recently and decided to take the plunge and treat myself to a couple brushes from the Real Techniques Bold Metals range.

I’d been meaning to get good set of brushes for a while but never had the time to sit down and research, on all my fave beauty blogs, which were the best to buy. The Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes started popping up on my Twitter and Instagram feeds left, right and centre and I immediately started lusting after them before I’d even read up on them. They are just so gorgeous!

Cystic Hygroma: Our Story So Far

My daughter was born with a Cystic Hygroma and until I had her I had no idea what this was. You can read the full back story here but I just wanted to share an update and try and help any parents out there who are at the beginning of their journey with the condition. I could barely find any positive information out there regarding babies who had been born with them and that was pretty scary as a first time parent.

Weekend Baby Style #21

Greetings from Scotland! I am up, with Isla, visiting family and we're off up North to the Orkney Isles today. Can't wait to spend lots of time with the family and relax. We will also be vlogging the whole weekend but unfortunately Rob isn't with us. He couldn't get the time off work.

So onto this week's outfits.

Vest, Bowties & Candyfloss* | Shorts, Zara | Sandals, Gap | Headband, River 20 Four

This vest. It's super awesome. It's all about the fruit this SS15 and we think the banana print is up there with the top fruit picks for this season. I almost gave Isla a banana as a prop just so I could go | Banana, Tesco | but alas she was so well behaved this time so didn't need a distraction! We are super happy to be brand reps for Bowties & Candyfloss as we've loved all their bits and bobs for ages. They have such fab prints and If you're looking for some fun, unique bits for your little ones then definitely go check them out here. I think the vest goes pretty well with the Zara shorts as the neon pop gives the whole outfit a proper summery vibe. Loving the gap sandals of course too. Wish i could find me a pair of those bad boys!

Top, H&M | Leggings, Next | Cardi, H&M | Moccasins, Buffalo & Bear | Dribble Bib, Max & the Star

How fun is this top? It's one of those ones that I got ages ago but it disappeared into the Black hole that is Isla's dresser and has only come out to play once or twice. I love the cool Blue colour of it and the font is fab too. It's from the boys section of H&M. Oops! I thought I'd team it with a pair of plain Black leggings and her amazing moccs from Buffalo and Bear. These get so many compliments when we are out and about. They are such great quality.

It sounds silly but one of my favourite things about this outfit is the dribble bib. I found Max & the Star on Instagram and love all the prints they do on their bibs. I bought a couple floral ones and then got in touch to see if they did any plain colours. It's so hard to find plain colours on dribble bibs. How lovely is this mint green colour? They are really great for keeping your little one's tops clean. The Max & Star ones have a kind of towelling material behind them which really helps to keep them dry. I love them!

The don't just do dribble bibs so check them out here (Just FYI, I wasn't sent these to review!).

One of our many faves from last week:

I am IN LOVE with this romper from Zara that Indie from Baby Sausages is wearing. How absolutely adorable is the denim wash, the detailing, the sleeves, the belt? It all goes literally perfectly. Lovely!

Beebies Baby Store Fashion*

When we first discovered Beebies we loved checking out all the different baby equipment and toys they featured but didn’t actually realise what fab clothing they also stock. Shame on us! There is a whole range of gorgeous little bits for your little ones. We are lucky enough to be able to say we are Beebies Baby Store Ambassadors and were sent a little package of goodies to have a look at.

First of all we need to talk about these moccasins (£19.95). I am ALL about the moccasins. Anyone who follows our Instagram will instantly see how far my obsession goes. I’m terrible! The fact that these little ones features foxes just adds to my delight. I am also obsessed with foxes. The quality of the Shoo Shoo moccasins is really high. The leather is super soft and will feel lovely on your child’s feet. Practical and super stylish.

The MADS 2015

Tots100 MAD Blog Awards

This is the first year I've felt confident enough to join in with the blogging community awards season! I still don't see my blog as anywhere near as good as all my favourites out there but I am working on it and I'm proud of what it has achieved so far.

I admire and respect so many other bloggers out there and have nominated some of my faves in the MADS 2015. The MAD (Mum and Dad) Blog Awards are the UK's biggest parenting awards. Last year there were over 300,000 nominations. How crazy is that!

How it works is that:
- Bloggers and their readers are invited to nominate, and share their favourite blogs across a range of categories
- Then five bloggers in each category with the most nominations, along with one blogger selected by the judging panel, will be shortlisted as finalists
- After that the public can vote for their winner in each category, apart from the Blog of the Year category
- The winners of the awards will be revealed at a  awards ceremony held in London in September, attended by finalists, judges and sponsors, along with some specially invited guests.

I would be the most grateful person in the world if anyone out there reading liked us enough to nominate. It's super quick to do and it would mean so much even to just be nominated.

Lots of love and thank you!

Why I Started Blogging

What feels like many moons ago I was newly pregnant and in need of some information and advice. None of my friends were pregnant at the time and I wasn’t living near family either. I randomly stumbled across a couple pregnancy blogs and was instantly hooked. I think the first ones I found were Lucie and the Bump and Hannah Maggs and I loved reading all their pregnancy updates and advice. It really helped me get through all the questions I had surrounding pregnancy and any ‘I wonder if this is normal’ moments.

Weekend Baby Style #20

Happy Friday you beautiful lot!

Last week we began to discuss changing the name of the linky, to incorporate kids of all ages, and you lovely people came up with some super cute suggestions. Thank you very much. I haven't had a spare minute or second in the day to sit down and have a good think about it so I am open to more suggestions this week.

Top, Gorgeous Little George* | Bottoms, Zara | Moccasins, Hux Baby | Headband, Blossom Wood Boutique*

(Somebody was not in the mood for photos!)

How, how, how amazing is this top from independent brand, Gorgeous Little George, that is based in the NE of England? We spotted their ‘My Mummy is a Blogger’ tee on Instagram and fell in love immediately. I see a lot of these raglan printed tops in US and AUS shops but this is one of the first British ones I’ve come across. It made me super happy. Go check them out here. We are also lucky enough to be brand reps for them and have been sent this really fun top. I am obsessed with monochrome so this is literally perfect! I’ve teamed it with these fab drop crotch bottoms from Zara. Love a bit of Khaki.

Top, Zara | Bottoms, Zara | Cardi, Zara| Headband, Blossom Wood Boutique*

Another fruity little number for you after last week’s fruit extravaganza. I spotted these bottoms in Zara the other week and loved the print and bright colours. They look super comfy and I love how well they go with this cheeky little bright top. I’m trying to inject a bit of summer colours into her wardrobe to entice the summer weather to start properly! We keep getting bursts of it down here on the South Coast.

One of our faves from last week.

I am in love with this Zara jacket and H&M shoes from Eat.Love.Live London. How fab is the print on the jacket. Such lovely spring colours!

Very much looking forward to seeing all your entries this week. Spread the word!

Baby Routine: 1 Year Old

We usually include routine as part of the monthly updates but as this month's one was so mammoth, I thought I would separate it out so as not to overwhelm you!
I've split it into weekday and weekend routine because they are a bit different with Isla being at nursery full time during the week (part time parent!).
Weekday routine:
Sometimes she wakes up between 5 and 6am for her 1st bottle and sometimes she doesn’t.

12 Month Baby Update

(How could I forget 'You started Ballet'?! Oops)

General
12 months old. What a month this has been! I feel like I’ve lost my baby and I have a full blown toddler now instead. Super scary stuff.

Weekend Baby Style #19

So first of all I have something to discuss with all you lovely people who link up with us. As you know this linky is open to all ages of kids but the name of it is obviously Weekend Baby Style. This doesn’t really fit so we’re trying to come up with a new name. Looking for something short and snappy that will catch people’s attention. I have a few ideas but would love to hear your opinions. Let us know in the comments!

Tee, River Island | Jeggings, Gap| Moccasins, Buffalo & Bear | Top Knot, River

As a blogger’s baby, when I saw this tee, I knew I needed to buy it. I mean who doesn’t love a #OOTD or a #BOOTD?! I do love Isla in Black tees but this is when she is most likely to get mistake for a boy so a hair accessory is a necessity. These moccs have been elevated to favourite moccasin status in Isla’s collection. I LOVE them! They are so well made as well so if you are looking for some moccs, definitely go check them out on Beebies Baby Store.

Dress, H&M | Cardi, H&M | Sandals, Clarks | Headband, Braces & Bows

Isla isn’t so great in dresses, probably because she isn’t used to them, and they get in the way of her daily explorations. I’d never send her to nursery in one, unless it was a short one and it was really hot weather. This one is a great length and I adore the colour of it. Such a lovely shade of Blue. And it’s striped. We all know how I feel about stripes! She’s getting on really well with her Clarks shoes and it’s great to know they are a proper fit for her growing little feet. I do wish there were plainer styles though. Glitter, butterflies and sequins aren’t really my thaaaaang. I can never find plain coloured cardis for her. This is one of the only acceptable ones in her wardrobe that will go with everything. Any tips would be much appreciated!

One of our faves from last week.

Eeee how dapper is Jacob from Mummy and the Bubbas looking? That denim shirt goes perfectly with the Grey elephant leggings.

Very much looking forward to seeing all your entries this week. Spread the word!

What I Wore Wednesday #17

Jeans, Zara | Tee, Zara | Cardi, H&M | Shoes, Topshop | Necklace, Forever 21
