Money Money Money!*

As women our financial motivations can often differ from men. For example, I don’t know too many men who have ‘shopping’ near the top of their priority list. And I would probably list it a couple lines down from food and rent!

When we throw family life and a child into the mix, financial difficulties can arise and we find ourselves making tough decisions about how to manage our money.

Weekend Baby Style #26

Happy Friday everyone! I know it's been a while but back on to the side of a name change...I'm thinking Weekend Mini Style instead of Weekend Baby Style. It's not much of a change but I think it'll help people still find us easily enough. What do you all think?

Isla's outfits this week:

Top, George at Asda | Leggings, Cotton On Kids | Headband, Fawn & Finch | Sandals, Next

I really really love these leggings. They were given to us by our lovely friend Steph at Chalk Kids because Finlay had grown out of them before he could even wear them. Lucky for Isla! Thank you Steph! I love a triangle print and the fact that these are monochrome make them even more up my street. Still loving the Next sandals. They literally go with everything.

Dress, Next | Moccasins, Hux Baby | Bib, Max & the Star | Hair Ties, Little Sleepy Sew & Sew

This is another dress from our multi buy from Next last week. Who doesn't love a stripe? These dresses have such a lovely fit and shape to them. They also look super comfortable. I wish they did them in adult sizes. Isla's bib is a gorgeous floral print from Max & the Star. Definitely check them out on Instagram. They have such lovely bits and bobs for sale and have started doing on off custom rompers too.

And I finally got her hair in pigtails!

A fave from last week:

I'm a total mint Green obsessive so this gorgeous outfit over on Mums Blind Love was right up my street. How gorgeous is that bow and bib? And what a cute expression!

Chicco Disney Toys*

We are big fans of Chicco in this household and have been since we discovered their Next To Me bedside crib way back before Isla was born.

This time we were exploring a different area of their products and an area that Isla clearly finds more interesting. Toys!

Chicco have teamed up with Disney and created a capsule collection of fun and interesting toys for a variety of ages.

Mum & Baby June Favourites

Baby

Kokosa Baby Coconut Oil - this product is ridiculous! The amount of things it can do is unreal. I use it on Isla's skin, I use it on my skin, I use it to take off my eye make up (best mascara remover EVER), I use it as after sun, I use it to cook...the possibilities are endless. I would highly recommend getting a bit of coconut oil in your life if you haven't already. You don't know what you are missing!

5 Things I'd Do Differently With My Next Baby

Listen to my gut instinct – The first time around you are literally thrown in at the deep end. There is no amount of reading, or listening to others advice, you can do that will prepare you for your first baby and parenthood. Everyone is different and every baby is different. It takes time to figure out what works for you. I had a lot of anxiety at the beginning when I thought I didn’t know how to do anything right but it comes with time. Next time I’ll be more prepared mentally and will trust myself to know what’s right for my baby.

Weekend Baby Style #25

Dress, Next | Sandals, Next | Headband, Little Bowtique Nenagh

So I went into Next to try and look for some workwear bits and ended up buying Isla 3 dresses and a pair of sandals. Oops! I'm terrible. I literally can not be trusted. In my defence, they were on offer. 3 for £15. Pretty good huh! And because the weather is starting to warm up here she'll get lots of wear out of them. These sandals were from the boys section in Next because the girl ones were a bit too Pink and sparkly unfortunately. I was a bit worried about how they'd fit but they seem to fit fine.

We were sent some lovely bows from Little Bowtique Nenagh and I love the fact they're plain colours. It makes it easy to match them with outfits. They are super cute and great quality. We also got sent a Black one which I am over the moon about. We all know how I feel about monochrome!! Check them out here.

Playsuit, Zara | Sandals, Clarks | Headband, Little Bowtique Nenagh

This little playsuit was a gorgeous birthday present for Isla from Jaspy over at Lilypod & Sweetpea. And my what great taste he has! It’s literally adorable. I love the colours, they are really lovely and on trend for the summer. The playsuit material is almost linen like, which makes it super comfy and cool for the warmer weather. How cute is the little tie waist belt. It finishes it off perfectly.

A fave from last week:

Loving the dungarees and bobble hat combo over on Hello Archie. The bigger the bobble the better! Hello Archie is such a great blog, you should definitely go check it out.

BabyBjorn SoFo Changing Bag Review*

We are big fans of BabyBjorn in this household. We have had two carriers and a lot of their weaning products and love them all. We are also lucky enough to get the chance to work with them from time to time.

When they got in touch to give us a sneak peek of their new changing bag, which is launched in June, we jumped at the chance to check it out and share it with all you lovely people.

5 Things I'd Do Differently With My Next Pregnancy

Not that I'm planning on getting pregnant anytime soon!
Accept more help – I was Miss Independent when I was pregnant and seemed to think I had something to prove. I tried to act like nothing had changed and that I was still as capable of doing everything I did before I got pregnant. I think I didn’t want people to think I was pulling the ‘pregnancy’ card so I went the opposite way and never cancelled anything or asked for help. I barely accepted seats on the tube and still attempted to carry all my food shopping at 8 months pregnant. I had to be told to sit down and leave boxes when we moved house as well. With a toddler in tow next time, I will definitely be accepting more help. Oh, and keeping her in nursery, once I’m on mat leave.

Father's Day Gift Guide

A few ideas for Father's Day 2015 if you are planning to get a gift...

Molton Brown Gift Set - Men might pretend they don't like a pamper but they definitely do behind closed doors! And what better brand to pamper with than a bit of Molton Brown. This taster set has some lovely bits that can be used for travelling as well. It's also always good when things come in their own boxes for wrapping!

Coffee Machine - I'm clearly being selfish here as the only thing my husband would use this for is to make hot chocolate! He's not a coffee drinker at all but it would make a lovely present for a dad who does like coffee, if you are wanting to splash a little bit more cash.

Power Bank - There are so many power banks out there but I've had a good read on Google and this would be the one I would choose to get. Robert and I are terrible for not having enough battery on our phones to last a day so one of these would be a very welcome addition to our family.

Tea - Robert is SUCH a tea drinker. He literally drinks more tea than my mum. And that's saying something. We tried out these new tea leaf gift sets from British Tea Lovers and they are FAB. You get a tea strainer as well as a useful keepsake tin. We all know dads love a tin for keeping bits and bobs in! Use discount code DAD 181 to get 10% off. They have a sale on just now as well.

Weekend Baby Style #24

Hello! Hope everyone has had a good week. What lovely weather we have been having. Pity it’s about to all go downhill this weekend. Typical huh...

Tee, Zara | Shorts, George @ Asda | Moccasins, Fawn & Finch| Bib, Little Sleepy Sew & Sew

How fun are these shorts from Asda? I love the elephant print! The colours are almost verging on a bit too much on the bright side for my liking but I think they work well. I thought it would be best to keep the top to a plain colour so we didn’t have a pattern overload. The neon colour is so much fun, lovely and bright, and the bow on the tee is pretty cute. I couldn’t find any hair accessories to go with this outfit so I think it’s time I looked into getting some more. I think Isla’s hair is almost long enough for clips so will have to get me some of those bad boys.

Remember, we are still running our Little Sleepy Sew & Sew giveaway here too! You could win a bib of your choice and a pack of gorgeous hair ties.

Dress, George @ Asda | Bib, Oscar & Mama | Sandals, Gap

We had a bit of a fail with the second outfit. I had planned for Isla to wear a fab playsuit she got for her birthday, from Jaspy and Jess at Lilypod & Sweetpea, but alas it is in the wash. We had to settle for this candy stripe dress from Asda instead, which is really sweet. It is just a tiny bit long for little Miss Tear-a-bout at the moment. We teamed it with a cheeky bib we were sent from Oscar & Mama, who are a really lovely brand on Instagram. Check them out here. How gorge is that Liberty London print! Oscar & Mama use unique, beautiful prints to make some great accessories for your little ones. Isla is dribbling like mad so we’re loving our dribble bibs just now and expecting some more teeth any time soon.
A fave from last week:

What a dude indeed! Absolutely loving this outfit over on Loved By Mummy.

Baby Sleep Routine

Sleep is a huge big mahoosive topic when it comes to parenting. I have lost hours of my life discussing it with other parents, friends and family. And rightly so I guess, nothing prepares you for the effect sleep deprivation has on you in those first 6-8 weeks. There is nothing quite like getting up every hour, on the hour and thinking 2.5 hours sleep uninterrupted is bliss. I totally get why it is used as an interrogation technique now!

Little Sleepy Sew & Sew Giveaway!

Our lovely friend Anna over at Little Sleepy Sew & Sew creates the most beautiful dribble bibs and other accessories whilst her gorgeous baby naps. She uses such lovely material and creates unique bits and bobs for your little one. Material is often limited and Anna likes to mix up the prints she uses so you are aren't likely to run into any other babies locally rocking the same bibs - phew! Anna also blogs at Play at Home Teacher. Busy lady!

Weekend Baby Style #23

Another HUGE big thank you to Anna from Play at Home Teacher for hosting whilst I was away last weekend. Absolutely loved all your posts. Apologies I haven't caught up with comments yet. Work and the blog have been crazy this week. I will be back to normal this week and all over it!

Dress, Bowties & Candyfloss | Crown, Claire Hannah Kids | Moccasins, Fawn & Finch

This dress. Seriously! I love the Strawberry print so much. It is so summery and fun. I seem to feature fruit a lot in Isla's linky but there's just something so fab about a fruit print. I love the unique shape of the dress and the t-shirt style colour. You have to check out Bowties & Candyfloss if you are looking for some super on trend bits and bobs for your little one. Also loving this crown. Who doesn't love a crown?? You can adjust the size of it, with the tie ribbons, so it will last forever. I came across Claire Hannah Kids on Instagram and have fallen in love with everything she sells. Lots of lovely interior items and accessories.

Top, George at Asda | Leggings, Next| Jacket, Zara | Bib, Little Sleepy Sew & Sew | Moccasins, Fawn & Finch

I am in love with this Zara jacket. I would quite happily wear it. It is such a lovely fit and the Gold popper buttons are really sweet. It's a great light weight jacket for the so-called summer weather we are about to have! This top came in a set from George. It's great to find plain tops with no patterns or characters on them. Much easier to match with outfits!
